Larvae young carpet beetles are 1 8 to 1 4 inch long and. They range in color from black to speckled with white brown yellow and orange. They have a slightly rounded shell and are usually black brown in colour with flecks of white on their backs. Adult beetles have different sizes and colors but most are between one tenth of an inch and three sixteenths of an inch long.
